Every active approved-Rx registration, by what the company behind it actually does. 40.2% belong to repackagers and relabelers - firms that buy a finished drug and put their own label on it. They hold NDCs; they hold no manufacturing capacity, which is why they are filtered out of the concentration figures above.

Weighted by active registration, not by company: counted per company the answer would be '97% unclassified', because curation has covered the firms that move volume and not the long tail of one-product labelers. Unclassified registrations are mostly small labelers not yet reviewed - they are not implied to be manufacturers or not.

The largest approved-Rx labelers, with single-source exposure, open shortages, and recalls in the last year. Sort by any column; search for a specific company.
Counts are canonical entities - FDA labeler name variants are merged into one company. The analytical universe is FDA-approved prescription products (ANDA, NDA, BLA); homeopathic, OTC-monograph, and bulk ingredients are excluded, and known allergen-extract houses and pharmacy repackagers are filtered from the concentration figures (a stopgap until manufacturer classification is complete). "Single-source" means the only active US supplier for a drug concept (form × route) - not clinical advice; a single-source concept may have therapeutic alternatives.
